What you will Learn

Learning takes place in a range of settings, including classrooms and enterprise environments. Lessons are designed to be engaging and structured, helping learners to develop both practical business skills and the academic skills needed for progression. Students will explore how businesses operate, develop ideas, and take part in enterprise projects where they can plan, promote, and evaluate their own business concepts.

Alongside business knowledge, learners will develop key academic skills such as communication, research, presentation, and critical thinking. These are essential for progression onto GCSEs, A Levels, and higher education. Students will also build confidence in written work, discussions, and presenting ideas-supporting their readiness for more formal academic courses.

Throughout the course, learners will also develop important life skills such as organisation, time management, independence, and problem-solving-key qualities needed for further study and future careers. On successful completion of the course, learners can progress onto GCSE programmes, Level 2 qualifications, A Levels, or other academic pathways, leading to university study and careers in areas such as business management, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship.

Assessment

Continual independent project-based learning is evidenced through practical application of vocational specific presentations, portfolios of evidence, speaking and listening and group discussion. Vocational learning within the industry area provides evidence of independent research, critical evaluation and development of transferrable skills, such as teamwork, communication, resilience and problem solving.
