Course Overview

The first part of the course is entitled ‘Welcome to French’ and it will ease you into the programme.

You will learn very quickly how to introduce yourself and make different greetings.

Moving on, you will learn how to ask for items when out shopping or in your hotel and to ask for (and understand!) directions and travel advice. You will develop your pronunciation skills, numbers and the intricacies that make the French language something wonderful and rewarding to learn.

By the end of the course, you will be able to read, speak and understand a range of common French words, number forms and useful phrases, giving you confidence in a variety of situations. You will also have some understanding of the correct pronunciation of the letters used in the French language. Joyeuses Fetes!

Course Requirements

No prior knowledge. Just enthusiasm and a willingness to participate.

What you will Learn

During this course you will learn basic French words and phrases to get you started or re-started with this colourful language and to help you get the most out of trips to France and other French-speaking countries.

No formal assessment

Progression

Upon sucessful completion of the course you can progress to our Conversational French or Improvers French programmes. Alternatively, we offer other language courses such as Greek and Italian.
